What Should You Do During a Dental Emergency?
If you are not sure what to do during a dental emergency, you can call us, and we will guide you until you arrive for treatment. For common dental emergencies, like toothaches, knocked-out teeth, chipped teeth, or abscesses, we recommend specific first steps you can take at home before you see us
- For toothaches, rinse your mouth with warm saltwater and take over-the-counter pain relief as directed.
- For a knocked-out tooth, handle it by the crown, rinse gently with water, and, if possible, place it back in the socket or keep it in a glass of milk or saline until you can get in.
- For chipped or cracked teeth, rinse your mouth and apply a cold compress to reduce swelling. Avoid chewing on the affected side.
- For abscesses, rinse with salt water and contact us immediately. Avoid squeezing the abscess.
Other Emergency Care We Provide
We also offer emergency care for issues like broken or ill-fitting dentures, lost crowns, and dental injuries from sports. No matter the dental crisis, our focus is on helping you feel better as soon as possible, while keeping your comfort in mind every step of the way.
After-Hours Emergency Care
Emergencies don’t wait for regular business hours. After-hours emergency care is available for patients in need. Please call our office and our team will provide guidance and find a prompt solution for your urgent concern.
